FOR PATIENTS:
Obtain A Medical Review:

Lawphysicians specializes in referring medical experts to attorneys, government agencies, insurance companies and other clients wishing an independent evaluation of medical records. Most of our experts are board-certified in their medical specialties and distinguished in their field(s). If you wish to arrange an independent review of your case or that of a family member, we can help.

HOW TO PROCEED:
If you are contemplating legal action and have an attorney, simply call his or her attention to this website or mention our e-mail address. We will be glad to discuss your case with your lawyer or both of you in a conference call. If you have not yet contacted an attorney or other representative and merely wish a second opinion or medicolegal evaluation of your case, please do the following:

Obtain a copy of your relevant medical records and send them to us at LawPhysicians, 130 La Casa Via, Bldg. 2 Suite 106, Walnut Creek, CA 94598. Most states allow patients to have copies of their records from treating physicians or hospitals on request. You may be charged a reasonable fee for copying the records but that should be all. If there is resistance, you may contact your state medical board or county medical society for help in obtaining your records. The numbers of these agencies are usually listed in your local telephone directory and increasingly on the Internet.

A check or money order for $800 made out to Painsolvers, Inc. must accompany the records. No records will be reviewed without advance payment. A note or cover letter with a specific question or problem is usually helpful: for example, did Dr. X treat my condition correctly or did Dr. Y make a mistake when he removed my mother's gall bladder?

Only relevant records should be sent. It is usually unnecessary to send your complete medical history: we will let you know if we need additional information. Medical files received by us cannot be returned so if you wish to retain a copy, please make a duplicate for yourself before sending them to us. They will be kept strictly confidential and cannot be reviewed by anyone other than our medical director and the medical expert designated by us. No insurance companies, government agencies, lawyers or other doctors may see your records without your written permission.

Your records will be reviewed by one of our experts with appropriate competence and you will receive a report within three weeks of our receiving the case records and notification that your check has cleared. Our medical director will review all reports before final approval. If additional information or clinical material (x-rays, scans, biopsy reports, etc.) are needed, you will be so advised. In every case, we will try to indicate the advisability and likelihood of success of legal or other action.

In some cases we may be able to refer you to a competent attorney in your area if you so desire.
